About 1/2 way in on the road. It had just stopped raining so we took a break to take our coats off. This signalled the rain to return in a few minutes.

We picked a bad weather day to mess around in the area of Dog Mountain. It started raining so we picked our way back to the cabin to look around.

Q at the side of the cabin. This shows the cyclone fencing material that was used to secure the windows. Was it to keep people out, or keep someone in?

A closeup of the old Olympic stove. We think that it used diesel fuel (a marine stove?) because of a jerry can next to the heater that had some kind of valve built in.

This is a picture of the oil heater. Can't make out the brand name though. Anyone know? [Webmaster note: we think it is "Enterprise" - after another trip here in August of 2003]

Here Q is in the kitchen, inspecting the jerry can setup.
