Annotations:
- (A) - This shot was taken outside the adit obviously
- (B) - Just starting into the mine, the first few feet
- (C) - We had just turned into "Drift A", stepping precariously on some small boards used to cross the mud and water
- (D) - This little bridge thing was strange, we were not sure what it was for or what was under it, it looked like mud
- (E) - A person crouching on the little bridge feature
- (F) - The person on the bridge took this shot of the rest of the tunnel beyond. We did not go any further
- (G) - We continued along the drift, as it curved the floor was king of muddy shown in this shot
- (H) - After the muddy section, we turned left down a new section. There was this ore chute that looked collapsed with all kinds of material around
- (I) - This shot is taken past the last ore chute. There was a few feet of water here, we did not go further
- (J) - We turned around and explored the tunnel the other way. This shot is taken of a person near the next ore chute
- (K) - This shot was taken at the ore chute, looking past to the end of the collapsed tunnel and old adit?
- (L) - Back in the main part of the tunnel, where the tracks split to each side
- (M) - Past the split rails, the short tunnel went about 100 feet past a pile of timber and junk
- (N) - We then turned right down "Drift B". This is a shot past the next ore chute looking back at it
- (O) - We soon reached another ore chute. This shot shows a ladder at the bottom
- (P) - The lower ladder led to a higher one, this is looking straight up into the stoped out area
- (Q) - We finally reached the end of the tunnel here
- (R) - We backtracked to the remaining tunnel, "Drift C", there was some cool shoring in it - you know, it looked like a real mine
- (S) - Further on was more shoring and timbers above. We could see that there was a large stoped area above
- (T) - Here was the end of the line for us. Material from the ore chute shown on the tunnel floor in this shot backed the water up beyond
- (U) - The noise of the water pouring down the ore chute was deafening in the small cramped space, a shot of the ore chute here
Notes: We have learned from informed sources, more information about some of the areas we did not explore:
- Note #1: The tunnel here continues for only about 30 more feet past where we could see. The water looked to be a foot or two deep.
- Note #2: This tunnel continues for a few hundred more feet past the ore chute. There are more ore chutes and raises there. Again, the water looked to be a foot or two deep.
- Note #3: There is much more beyond this point, up to a thousand more feet of branched tunneling! The water past the ore chute looked at least a couple feet deep (if not more) but is dry a little ways further.
- Note #4: The tunnel here actually once broke through to the outside. The remains of a second caved adit can be seen if you examine the rock wall just to the west of the existing portal!
